Brazil paying tribute to Iran’s Abbas Kiarostami

Cineteatro Sao Luiz movie theater and cultural center in Brazil is paying tribute to the late prominent Iranian filmmaker, Abbas Kiarostami.

Cineteatro Sao Luiz movie theater and cultural center in Brazil is paying tribute to the late prominent Iranian filmmaker, Abbas Kiarostami.

A number of films by Kiarostami are being screened at Cineteatro Sao Luiz as part of a program entitled “Cinema Profile - Kiarostami and Saura” that also pays tributes to Spanish director Carlos Saura. 

Kiarostami’s feature films that are being screened as part of the program include ‘The Experience’, ‘The Traveler’, ‘Where is My Friend’s House?’ and ‘And Life Goes On’.

Several short films made by Kiarostami, including ‘The Bread and Alley’, ‘The Chorus’, ‘With or Without Order’ and ‘Solution Number One’, are also taking part in the program.

Abbas Kiarostami is a world-famous filmmaker who passed away in 2016 at the age of 76.

‘Where is My Friend’s House?’ is the first film that earned him international recognition.
